Only 2 (IDs) Will Do

Through the collaborative efforts of CANDLE, Pearl River and Tappan Zee High Schools and the Orangetown Police Department CANDLE launched an innovative program called “Only 2 Will Do” to support the goal of reducing the amount of underage drinking that is taking place in our community. Officially launched on November 2, 2010, teams of representatives from each of the participating groups visited local retailers of alcohol products to ask for their voluntary participation in the project by requesting 2 forms of identification from customers who appear to be under 30 years of age.

By prominently displaying stickers in their stores, retailers will be putting underage customers on notice that they will be asked for two forms of identification before they can purchase alcohol products.
